Where does nuru come from?

The technique originated in Japan, and the name comes from the Japanese word for “slippery”. Original nuru gel is made from nori seaweed. It is odourless, colourless and stays slick on the skin far longer than oil.

Classic nuru is done on an inflatable mattress instead of a massage bed, because a lot of gel is used and everything needs to be washable. The mattress and the gel are what set nuru apart from regular body to body — the principle is otherwise the same.

Can you get a nuru massage at Euphoria?

Honestly: genuine Japanese nuru with original nori gel is not on our price list. We do not want to sell something under a name that does not fit. Many places do, and guests end up paying extra for an ordinary body to body.

What you can book with us is body to body massage with warm oil. Same principle, same feeling of full-body contact, just a different medium. It starts at 1,800 CZK for 30 minutes and is one of our most popular massages.

If what draws you to nuru is the warm, slippery, water-like element, we have a better suggestion: the Premium massage in a private whirlpool. It takes place in your own hot tub, where warm water amplifies every touch. It is an experience a standard nuru cannot offer, and it costs 3,500 CZK for one hour, 5,240 CZK for 1.5 hours and 6,790 CZK for two hours.

Nuru vs. body to body: what is the difference?

In practice, two things: the medium and the surface. Nuru uses seaweed gel and an inflatable mattress; body to body uses warm oil and a heated massage bed. Nuru feels slightly slicker, and the gel lasts longer, so it needs topping up less often.

Everything else is the same. The masseuse works with her whole body, contact is maximal and the pace is slow. People who expect nuru to be “something more” are usually surprised by how similar the two are.

Things to know before you book in Prague

You will find plenty of offers for “nuru” in Prague, and it is worth asking what exactly is included before you go. At Euphoria, prices are final and listed openly: no entrance fee, no surprise extras for towels or the shower, and payment only after the session, in cash (CZK) or by QR code.

All our masseuses speak English. Valentýna recommends body to body to guests who want full-body contact. Like every service in our studio, these are relaxation massages; we do not provide sexual services, and a masseuse may end a session if a guest behaves inappropriately.
